Useful Donations

Donated items can make a real difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

Please check our current needs below before donating. Our Resource Centres have extremely limited storage space and no capacity to sort large volumes of donations, which means we can only accept items that we can store and distribute effectively.

If you are donating items, please deliver them to one of our resource centres between 9.30am and 5.00pm. Where possible, afternoon drop-offs are preferred.

If you have items that you think may be useful but are not listed below, please contact us at [email protected] before donating.

Yes please...

All donated items must be clean, safe, in good condition, and suitable for immediate use.
  • Seasonal items: suncream, sun hats and water bottles
  • Sleeping bags (ideally in their storage bag)
  • Rucksacks
  • New adult underwear
  • Adult waterproof coats
  • Roll mats and camping pillows
  • Drinks flasks and refillable drinks bottles
  • Non-perishable food (such as tinned meals)

Please contact us first…

If you would like to donate any of the following items, please contact us first. We can only accept these donations after checking that we have a current need and the capacity to store and distribute them, as these can change throughout the year.

  • High quality, practical adult clothing (sizes S to L, jogging bottoms, hoodies, sweatshirts, tshirts)
  • Food items
  • Pro bono services or professional expertise
  • Vouchers, tickets, or other non-cash contributions

No thank you…

So that we are able to focus our resources where they are most needed, and to maintain appropriate standards of hygiene, safety and practicality, we are unable to accept the following:

  • Clothing that is worn, damaged, stained, unsuitable for immediate use
  • Clothing donations that have not been arranged with us in advance
  • Corporate, branded or uniform clothing
  • Non waterproof coats
  • Pillows and duvets
  • Children’s clothes and toys
  • Bric-a-brac and miscellaneous household items
  • Household appliances or furniture
  • Fresh food that can spoil quickly
  • Items that don’t meet the current need

Please do not bring these items to our resource centres. Where appropriate, we encourage supporters to donate them to a charity shop or take them to their local recycling centre.

Receiving unsuitable items creates additional costs and uses valuable resources that could otherwise directly support people in need.

As an adult-only service, we are unable to accept children’s clothing or toys.

Our preferred way to receive items: Give Today Shop

The best and most effective way to support us with donated items is through our Give Today shop. It is always kept up to date with the items we currently need and ensures donations are delivered directly to our resource centres for distribution. This helps us provide exactly what people need, when they need it, without placing additional pressure on our storage space or staff capacity.

Give Today

Give Today is a free, not-for-profit, publicly funded platform run by a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), created for the benefit of charities and non-profit organisations. It uses an ethical network of suppliers to source and deliver items.

By fundraising, we’re seeking to help them to continue this vital work and support more people in building safer, more stable lives.
